Roy Lichtenstein Born in 1923. (1923-1997) A representative pop artist, he ranks alongside Andy Warhol. While Warhol created his own iconic character in the pop art world, Lichtenstein is the first to create a new art movement from the world of comics. Even if you don't recognize his name, many people have seen his work. His basic approach to pop art is parody, and his source of inspiration is mainly popular comics drawn in newspapers. He uses these popular comics as motifs, and paints them humorously with bright, flat, and well-balanced compositions, and compositions that inherit Mondrian's red, blue, and yellow "compositions." He is also known for starting to paint using the first acrylic paint, Magna. Pop artists have their own well-established styles, and there are many different ways of expression. For Lichtenstein, comics may have been somewhere between high culture, including the art he had studied, and popular culture. His style was consistent, and he continued to paint the works of artists such as Van Gogh and Picasso in his own style. This is a symbol of his confidence in his own style, and perhaps because he himself did not feel the need to change it throughout his life. Accessories: String
